Did you know...
that Jesus performed many miracles?
This story is about Jesus walking on water!
After the miraculous feeding of 5,000 people, Jesus told His disciples to get into a boat and cross a lake to a place called Bethsaida. Then he went up into the hills alone to pray.

Meanwhile, the disciples found themselves in trouble. It was now night and they were far away from land. A strong wind had come up and they were fighting against big waves. The disciples were afraid and thought the boat might sink.
Jesus saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling.
Jesus approached them, but he didn't have a boat, and He wasn't swimming! He was walking on top of the water!

The disciples saw Him and screamed in terror, and were afraid of Him because they thought they were seeing a ghost.
Jesus spoke to them and said "It's all right, I am here. Don't be afraid."
One of the disciples named Peter called to him and said, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you by walking on the water."
So Jesus invited Peter to come to Him. "All right, come," Jesus said.
At first, Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water towards Jesus, but then he took his eyes off Jesus, looked around him, and noticed that he was out on the water surrounded by the wind and the high waves. He became very afraid and began to doubt. Then he began to sink. "Save me Lord," Peter shouted.

Jesus reached out His hand and grabbed Peter.
"You don't have much faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?"

When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.
The disciples, who were watching everything, worshipped Jesus and said,
"Truly you are the Son of God!"
