The Benefits of Volunteering at Your Church

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10).

Are you thinking of volunteering at St. Peter's?  We encourage you to do so!  Volunteering in church benefits members of the congregation and the church itself!  When we volunteer, we are serving others.  When we do these things for people, we are ultimately doing it for God.  Jesus says in Matthew, "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you were doing it for me.'"

Volunteering....

  • provides you with physical, mental, and spiritual benefits, fulfilling your desire to help others while ensure that the church can direct more funds towards its mission;

  • helps you to strengthen your relationship with God - by helping the church, you are doing God's work;

  • helps your children develop a strong work ethic;

  • provides you with a sense of accomplishment - feel pride in the life you are living and gain a sense of purpose;

  • builds your skills - bulk up your resume by showing employers that they are getting someone who can work as a team.
